The book of Job engages with the issue of pain and suffering. Job asked the same question that we have probably asked a hundred times – why do the righteous suffer? In his pain, he decided to file a case against God, but he rescinded in a moment of truth. He realized God’s purpose for allowing pain was to have a deeper experience of the living God.
